Storm Performance Volleyball’s 15’s Gold National Team Triumphs at Cross Court Classic

Storm Performance Volleyball’s 15’s Gold National Team, led by head coach Kelsi Luckenback, emerged victorious at the 2024 Cross Court Classic in Houston, Texas. The tournament, known for attracting hundreds of top-tier teams, showcased the talent and teamwork of the Storm Performance squad.

The team’s journey to the championship was marked by an impressive winning streak. On Day 1, they dominated their matches, securing wins against Coastal Volleyball (25-11, 25-7), CTX Slam (25-11, 25-17), and Texas Vision (25-19, 25-16). Day 2 saw the team continue their winning ways, defeating Xcel (25-7, 25-17) and Texas Fury (26-24, 25-15).

In a hard-fought battle against AJV Red, Storm Performance faced their first set loss (22-25) but quickly bounced back, winning the next two sets (25-23, 15-13) to secure the match. The championship game against Cajun Elite proved to be a thrilling encounter, with Storm Performance winning the first set (25-19), losing the second (21-25), and ultimately clinching the title in a nail-biting third set (15-13).

Throughout the tournament, the team’s overall stats were impressive. Middle hitter Nya White led the charge with 59 kills and a remarkable 0.38 attack percentage. Setter Audree Vasquez, who was selected as Storm Performance’s 15s National MVP for CrossCourt, orchestrated the offense, tallying 120 assists and contributing 30 digs. Audree stood out for her aggressive play at the net, showcasing her blocking skills and effective setter dumps. Her offensive decision-making and ability to create space for her hitters along the net were crucial to the team’s success. Moreover, Audree made significant defensive moves to keep the ball in play, demonstrating her all-around prowess on the court.

Opposite hitter Emily Richards and Emma Yeager combined for 47 kills, while defensive specialists Lauren Nieto and Jazlynn Escamilla anchored the defense with 65 and 38 digs, respectively. Libero Lilyana Garza showcased her all-around skills, recording 62 digs and serving 8 aces. Middle hitter Kaylee Deaver made her presence felt with 20 kills and 2 blocks. Outside hitter Chloe Johnson and opposite hitter Zoe Schillinger contributed 11 and 9 kills, respectively. Defensive specialist Bailey Guess provided solid support with 32 digs, while opposite hitter Olivia Frazier added 22 digs and 4 aces.

In the championship match against Cajun Elite, Nya White led the team with 14 kills and a 0.3 attack percentage. Emma Yeager and Emily Richards combined for 9 kills, while Audree Vasquez orchestrated the offense with 25 assists and added 7 digs. Lilyana Garza anchored the defense with 16 digs, and Jazlynn Escamilla contributed 14 digs and 1 ace.

The Storm Performance Volleyball 15’s Gold National Team’s victory at the Cross Court Classic is a testament to their dedication, skill, and teamwork. Under the guidance of head coach Kelsi Luckenback, these young athletes have proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with.
